| All measurements in inches please. The tape measure
should be pulled snug, but not so tight that you can't fit two
fingers underneath it. |
Horizontal Measurements
As you are taking the 8 following measurements make sure
that the measuring tape is parallel to the floor. |

Waist
Around the body at the belly button. Make
sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor. |
|
Chest
Around the body just below the armpits.
Make sure that the tape measure is parallel to the floor. |
|
Upper Hip
Around the body right over the hip bone,
approximately 3-4 inches above the lower hip measurement. |
|
Lower Hip
Around the body over the fullest part
of the buttocks, at crotch level. |
|
Upper Thigh
Around the leg 1 inch below crotch level. |
|
Lower Thigh
4 inches below the upper thigh measurement. |
|
Knee
Over the knee cap. |
|
Across Front
From armhole seam to armhole seam on a
closely fitting shirt across the front, midway between the shoulder
and the armpit. |
|
Across Back
From armhole seam to armhole seam
across the back, midway between the shoulder and armpit. |
Length Measurements
These measurements
should be vertical to the floor. |

Height |
|
Girth
From side of the neck, all the way under
the crotch to the same spot on the side of the neck. This will
usually be longer than your tape measure. Tape should be pulled
snug, but not uncomfortably tight. |

Side Of Neck To Floor |
|
Inseam
From the crotch to ½ inch from
the floor with your stage costume boots on. Make sure that
the measuring tape starts as high up as you can get in your
crotch. |
| When you take the 4 following measurements,
tie a string around your chest, right under your arms. Make
sure that the string is as high as possible, almost cutting
into the armpits, while still remaining parallel to the floor. |

Front Armhole Depth
From the side of the neck to the underarm
string in the front. |
|
Back Armhole Depth
F rom the side of the neck
to th underarm string in the back. |

Under Arm To Knee |

| As you are taking the 3 following
measurements, tie a string around your hips, 3 inches above the
level of your crotch, to use a reference point. Make sure the
string is parallel to the floor. |

Under Arm To Hips |

Front Hip Length
From side of neck to where hips
are measured down the front. |
|
Back Hip Length
From side of the neck to where
the hips are measured down the back. |
Arm And Collar Measurements |
|
Bicep
Around the arm at the most muscular part,
fully flexed. |
|
Sleeve
From top of arm to 2nd knuckle of thumb. |
|
Shoulder
From the side of the neck to the top
of the sleeve. |
|
Wing Span
Arms outstretched fingertip to fingertip. |
|
Neck
Taken at the base of the neck - this should
be the same as the collar size on your shirts, but check
for yourself. |
